Antonio Palma, a member of the team behind My Neighbor Alice, has suggested that there are significant updates on the way for the popular blockchain metaverse game. Despite its success since its launch in early 2023, the creators have ambitious goals to expand MNA into a virtual universe that surpasses its current game features.

This information comes from Antonio Palma, the business director of the game, who discussed upcoming plans for users at the recent GeckoCon 2024 Web3 gaming event.

During the Coingecko event, there may have been some information leaked about My Neighbor Alice and the cryptocurrency ALICE. My Neighbor Alice is being developed to be more than just a game, aiming to create a universe that extends beyond the game itself. One of the goals is to make the game accessible on various devices.

During a panel discussion, Palma was asked about upcoming releases from the My Neighbor Alice team. He mentioned that they are currently working on three new alphas, which are expected to be introduced by 2025.

To help My Neighbor Alice expand and reach more players, Palma and his team are developing a new technology that will allow the game to be played on various devices, such as mobile phones and tablets. While specific details about the technology were not disclosed, it is likely to involve cloud-based streaming. This is because the current requirements for the game include a PC with Windows 7 OS or newer, an Intel i5-6400/Ryzen 5 1600 or better processor, at least 8GB of RAM, 6GB of storage space, and an Nvidia or AMD-based GPU.

According to Palma, we are likely one of the initial Web3 games to try out this technology, which will enable us to make our game accessible on any device, rather than being limited to just Windows.

Another part of the strategy is to simplify the process for new players to join, as the current method requires too much time and energy for those who play games casually.

"At the moment, I believe we currently require seven clicks to access the game and begin playing, including tasks like creating a wallet and signing up," Palma explained. "However, our goal is to reduce this process to just one click. We are currently testing this new technology, which is quite complex, and we hope to have it ready by next year."

These improvements aim to make the game easier for players who are not familiar with cryptocurrency. My Neighbor Alice is targeting non-crypto-native players and the game is created to introduce them to blockchain technology in a fun and engaging manner, gradually familiarizing them with concepts like NFTs, wallets, and cryptocurrency.

The game is like a virtual world based on the metaverse concept, comparable to games like Minecraft or Animal Crossing. Players can build and explore virtual worlds, work together with others, and participate in activities such as purchasing land, constructing, collecting insects, farming, fishing, and beekeeping.

Within the game, different elements such as land, characters, structures, vegetation, and animals are all depicted as NFTs. Players have access to user-friendly tools to customize their virtual environments and change the terrain. Through the in-game marketplace, players can purchase and sell these items using ALICE tokens obtained by completing tasks, working with others, and succeeding in contests. After constructing their virtual worlds, players can also generate income from them through various methods.

Palma mentioned that there will be significant changes to the in-game economy. He didn't provide many details but mentioned that they are experimenting with a new economy system and hinted at a possible announcement involving the ALICE token next year.

Finally, My Neighbor Alice is interested in using its position as a popular Web3 game to collaborate with other industry players, potentially leading to new integrations in the near future.

Palma shared that they have formed a significant partnership with a major intellectual property within the industry. They have not made any official announcements as they are still working on creating the experience. They follow a policy of only announcing things once they have been built. The partnership is currently in progress and will be revealed soon.
