Antonio Palma from My Neighbor Alice has suggested that there are significant updates on the way for the popular blockchain-based metaverse game. Despite its success since its launch in early 2023, the creators have ambitious plans to expand My Neighbor Alice into a virtual universe that surpasses the current game.

As per the game's business director, Antonio Palma, he discussed the upcoming plans for users in the following year at the recent GeckoCon 2024 Web3 gaming event.

During the CoinGecko event, there may have been some information leaked about My Neighbor Alice and the ALICE token. My Neighbor Alice is not just a game, but an entire universe that is being developed. The team is focused on making the game accessible on all devices. Antonio shared this update on November 20, 2024.

During a panel discussion, Palma was asked about upcoming releases from the My Neighbor Alice team. He mentioned that there are three new alphas in development and they are expected to be introduced by 2025.

To expand and improve the game, Palma and his team are developing a new technology that will allow My Neighbor Alice to be playable on various devices, including mobile phones and tablets. Although specific details about the technology were not provided, it is likely to involve cloud-based streaming. This is suggested by the game's current specifications, which require a PC with Windows 7 or newer, an Intel i5-6400/Ryzen 5 1600 processor or better, at least 8GB of RAM, 6GB of storage space, and an Nvidia or AMD GPU.

Palma mentioned that their game is among the first to explore Web3 technology, which will enable them to make the game accessible on any device, not just limited to Windows.

Another part of the strategy involves simplifying the process for new players to join the game, as the current method requires too much work for those who play casually.

Currently, Palma believes that there are seven steps required to access the game and begin playing, including tasks such as creating a wallet and signing up. However, the goal is to reduce this to just one click. Testing of this technology is ongoing and it is expected to be ready for launch next year.

These improvements aim to make the game easier to understand for players who are not familiar with cryptocurrencies. My Neighbor Alice hopes to appeal to a wider audience with these updates. The game is specifically created to teach new users about blockchain technology in a engaging and entertaining manner, gradually introducing them to concepts like NFTs, wallets, and cryptocurrencies.

The game is a virtual world like Minecraft or Animal Crossing, where players can create and explore different worlds, work together with others, and participate in activities like purchasing land, constructing buildings, collecting insects, farming, fishing, and beekeeping.

Within the game, players use NFTs to represent their land, avatars, buildings, plants, trees, flowers, and animals. They have access to user-friendly tools to customize their virtual worlds and change the terrain. Through the in-game marketplace, players can purchase and sell these items using ALICE tokens earned from missions, collaborations, and competitions. After creating their virtual worlds, players can also generate income from them in different ways.

Palma mentioned that significant changes are in store for the in-game economy. He didn't provide much detail, but he mentioned that they are experimenting with a new economy system and hinted at a possible announcement about it and the ALICE token next year.

Finally, My Neighbor Alice is eager to use its position as one of the top Web3 games to collaborate with different companies in the industry, potentially resulting in new partnerships and integrations in the near future.

"We have established a significant collaboration with a major intellectual property in the industry," Palma stated. "Although we have not made any official announcements yet, we are currently working on creating the experience. We always prefer to announce things once we have a tangible product to show. This project is still in progress and will be revealed soon."
