Antonio Palma from My Neighbor Alice has suggested that there are some significant updates on the way for the game. Despite its success since its launch in early 2023, the creators have ambitious goals to expand MNA into a virtual universe that surpasses its current form.
Antonio Palma, the business director of the game, revealed upcoming plans for users in the next year at the recent GeckoCon 2024 Web3 gaming event.
It seems that some information about @MyNeighborAlice and $ALICE may have been revealed during the @coingecko event. My Neighbor Alice is not just a game, but a universe that is being developed to expand beyond the core game. The team is focused on making the game accessible on all devices. Antonio tweeted about this on November 20, 2024.
During a panel discussion, Palma was asked to share information about upcoming releases from the My Neighbor Alice team. He mentioned that he is excited to introduce three new features, known as alphas, that are currently in development and set to be released by 2025.
Palma and his team are developing new technology to make My Neighbor Alice accessible on various devices, such as mobile phones and tablets. The specifics of the technology are not disclosed, but it is likely to involve cloud-based streaming. Currently, the game requires a PC with Windows 7 or newer, an Intel i5-6400/Ryzen 5 1600 processor or better, at least 8GB of RAM, 6GB of storage space, and an Nvidia or AMD GPU.
"We are likely among the pioneers in the Web3 gaming space testing this technology, which will enable our game to be accessible on any device, rather than being limited to Windows," explained Palma.
Another part of the strategy is to simplify the process of welcoming new players, as it currently requires too much time and work for those who play games casually.
Palma mentioned that currently, there are seven steps required to access and start playing the game, including creating a wallet and signing up. However, they are working on reducing it to just one click. Testing has shown that this technology is quite intricate, but they aim to have it ready by next year.
These improvements are expected to make the game easier to understand for players who are not familiar with cryptocurrency. My Neighbor Alice wants to attract players who are new to crypto by introducing them to blockchain technology in a fun and engaging way, gradually teaching them about NFTs, wallets, and cryptocurrency.
The game is like a virtual world based on the metaverse, where players can create and discover different environments, work together with others, and participate in activities such as purchasing land, constructing buildings, collecting insects, farming, fishing, and beekeeping.
Within the game, players use NFTs to represent their land, avatars, buildings, plants, trees, flowers, and animals. They have access to user-friendly tools to customize their virtual worlds and change the terrain. These items can be bought and sold in the in-game marketplace using ALICE tokens, which are earned by completing tasks, working with others, and succeeding in competitions. After creating their virtual worlds, players have the opportunity to monetize them in different ways.
Palma mentioned that there will be significant changes to the in-game economy. He didn't provide many details but mentioned that they are currently testing a new economy system. There may be an announcement about this and the ALICE token in the coming year.
Finally, My Neighbor Alice seems interested in using its position as a popular Web3 game to collaborate with other industry players, potentially resulting in new integrations in the near future.
Palma mentioned that they have formed a significant partnership with a major intellectual property in the industry. They have not made any official announcements because they are currently developing the experience and follow a policy of only announcing things after they have been built. The partnership is in progress and details will be revealed soon.
