Antonio Palma, a key figure in the development of My Neighbor Alice, has teased that there are significant updates on the horizon for the popular blockchain-based metaverse game. Despite its success since its launch in early 2023, the creators have ambitious goals to expand MNA into a virtual universe that surpasses its current form.

This information comes from Antonio Palma, the business director of the game, who discussed upcoming plans for users in the next year at the recent GeckoCon 2024 Web3 gaming event.

During the CoinGecko event, there may have been some information revealed about My Neighbor Alice and the cryptocurrency ALICE. My Neighbor Alice is being developed as more than just a game, with plans to create a universe that expands beyond the main gameplay. One of the goals is to make the game accessible on all types of devices. Antonio shared this update on Twitter on November 20, 2024.

During a panel discussion, Palma was asked about upcoming projects and mentioned that the My Neighbor Alice team is excited to introduce three new features in the future, aiming for a release date of 2025.

Palma mentioned that his team is developing a new technology to allow My Neighbor Alice to be playable on various devices, such as mobile phones and tablets, in order to support the game's growth. The specifics of the technology were not disclosed, but it likely involves cloud-based streaming. This is important because the current requirements for playing the game include a PC with Windows 7 OS or newer, an Intel i5-6400/Ryzen 5 1600 processor or better, at least 8GB of RAM, 6GB of storage space, and a Nvidia or AMD-based GPU.

Palma mentioned that their game is among the first in the Web3 space to explore this technology, which will enable them to make the game accessible on various devices instead of being limited to Windows.

Another part of the plan involves simplifying the process of getting new players on board, as the current method requires too much work for casual gamers.

Currently, Palma believes that there are seven steps required to access and begin playing the game, such as setting up a wallet and registering. However, the goal is to reduce this to just one click. Testing has been conducted on the complicated technology, and the hope is that it will be ready for launch next year.

These improvements aim to make the game more user-friendly for players who are not familiar with cryptocurrency. My Neighbor Alice wants to appeal to a wider audience. The game is created to introduce beginners to blockchain technology in a fun and engaging way, gradually introducing them to concepts like NFTs, wallets, and cryptocurrency.

This game is like a virtual world that is based on the metaverse concept, similar to games like Minecraft and Animal Crossing. In this game, players can create and explore virtual worlds, work together with others, and participate in activities such as purchasing land, constructing buildings, collecting insects, farming, fishing, and beekeeping.

In this game, players can own digital assets such as land, avatars, buildings, plants, trees, flowers, and animals through NFTs. The game offers tools that make it simple for players to customize their virtual worlds and alter the environment. Players have the option to purchase and sell these items within the game using ALICE tokens, which can be earned by finishing missions, working with other players, and winning contests. After creating their virtual worlds, players can also find ways to make money from them.

Palma hinted at upcoming significant changes to the in-game economy. He didn't provide many details but mentioned that they are experimenting with a new economy system. There may be announcements regarding this and the ALICE token in the coming year.

Finally, My Neighbor Alice seems eager to use its position as a popular Web3 game to collaborate with other industry players, potentially resulting in new partnerships and integrations in the near future.

"We have established a significant collaboration with a major intellectual property in the industry," Palma stated. "We have not made any official announcements as we are still developing the project, and we prefer to announce only once we have a tangible product to showcase. This partnership is currently in progress and will be revealed soon."
