Antonio Palma, from My Neighbor Alice, suggests that significant updates are on the way for the popular blockchain metaverse game. Despite its success since its launch in early 2023, the creators have ambitious goals to expand MNA into a virtual universe that surpasses the current game.
This information comes from Antonio Palma, the business director of the game, who was questioned about the team's plans for users in the upcoming year at the recent GeckoCon 2024 Web3 gaming event.
There may have been some information shared at the CoinGecko event regarding My Neighbor Alice and the cryptocurrency ALICE. The focus of My Neighbor Alice is not just on being a game, but on creating a whole universe that extends beyond the game itself. They are currently working on making the game accessible on all types of devices. Antonio shared this update on November 20, 2024.
During a panel discussion, Palma was asked to share some upcoming releases from the My Neighbor Alice team. He mentioned that they have three new products in development, which are scheduled to be launched in 2025.
To support the growth of the game, Palma and his team are currently developing a new technology that will allow My Neighbor Alice to be played on various devices, such as mobile phones and tablets. Although details about the technology were not disclosed, it is likely to involve cloud-based streaming. This is important because the game currently requires a PC with specific specifications, including Windows 7 or newer, an Intel i5-6400/Ryzen 5 1600 processor, at least 8GB of RAM, 6GB of storage space, and a Nvidia or AMD GPU.
Palma mentioned that their game is one of the early adopters of Web3 technology, which will enable their game to be accessible on various devices, not just limited to Windows.
Another part of the strategy is to simplify the process of welcoming new users, as it currently requires too much time and work for those who only play games occasionally.
Palma mentioned that currently there are seven steps required to enter the game and begin playing, such as creating a wallet and signing up. However, the goal is to reduce this to just one click. They have been testing the complex technology and anticipate it will be ready by next year.
These improvements aim to make the game easier for players who are not familiar with cryptocurrency. My Neighbor Alice wants to appeal to this audience. The game is created to teach new players about blockchain in an engaging and enjoyable manner, gradually introducing them to NFTs, wallets, and cryptocurrency.
The game is like a virtual world created in a metaverse, similar to popular games like Minecraft or Animal Crossing. Players can create and explore virtual worlds, work together with others, and engage in activities like buying land, building structures, collecting insects, farming, fishing, and beekeeping.
Within the game, players' assets such as land, avatars, buildings, plants, trees, flowers, and animals are all represented by NFTs. The game offers tools that make it simple for players to customize their virtual worlds and adjust the landscape. Through the in-game marketplace, players can trade these items using ALICE tokens that they earn by finishing missions, working with others, and winning contests. Players have the option to monetize their virtual worlds in different ways after they have constructed them.
Palma mentioned that significant changes are coming to the in-game economy. He didn't provide many details but mentioned that they are currently testing a new economy system. There is a possibility of an announcement regarding this and the ALICE token in the upcoming year.
Finally, My Neighbor Alice seems eager to use its position as a top Web3 game to collaborate with different industry players, potentially resulting in new partnerships and integrations in the near future.
