Antonio Palma, from My Neighbor Alice, has suggested that there are significant updates on the way for the game. Despite already gaining popularity since its launch in early 2023, the creators have ambitious plans to expand My Neighbor Alice into a virtual universe that surpasses the current game.
As stated by the game's business director, Antonio Palma, he was questioned about the upcoming plans for users in the next year during his participation at the GeckoCon 2024 Web3 gaming event.
During the CoinGecko event, there may have been some information leaked about My Neighbor Alice and the ALICE token. My Neighbor Alice is not just a game, but a universe being created that expands beyond the game itself. The team is focused on making the game accessible on all types of devices.
During a panel discussion, Palma was unexpectedly asked to share about three upcoming features that the My Neighbor Alice team is working on. He mentioned that they are in the process of developing these features and hope to release them all by 2025.
To support the growth and scalability of the game, Palma and his team are developing a new technology that will allow My Neighbor Alice to be played on any device, including mobile phones and tablets. Details about the technology were not disclosed, but it is likely to involve cloud-based streaming. Currently, the game requires a PC with specific hardware specifications, such as Windows 7 OS or newer, an Intel i5-6400/Ryzen 5 1600 processor or better, at least 8GB of RAM, 6GB of storage space, and a Nvidia or AMD-based GPU.
Palma mentioned that their game is likely one of the first to explore Web3 technology, which will enable it to be accessible on any device rather than being limited to Windows.
Another part of the plan focuses on making the onboarding process more efficient, as it currently requires too much time and energy for casual gamers.
Currently, Palma believes that users need to go through seven steps to access the game, such as creating a wallet and signing up. However, they are working on reducing this process to just one click. Testing has shown that the technology is quite intricate, but they aim to have it ready by next year.
The game updates aim to make it easier for players who are not familiar with cryptocurrency to enjoy My Neighbor Alice. The game is specifically created to introduce new players to blockchain technology in a fun and engaging way, gradually helping them understand concepts like NFTs, wallets, and cryptocurrency.
This game is a virtual world that is like a metaverse, similar to games like Minecraft and Animal Crossing. In this game, players can create and explore virtual worlds, work together with other players, and participate in activities like buying land, building structures, collecting insects, farming, fishing, and beekeeping.
Within the game, different aspects such as land, characters, structures, vegetation, and animals are all depicted as NFTs. Players are given tools to customize their virtual environments and modify the terrain. These items can be bought and sold through the game's marketplace using ALICE tokens, which can be earned by completing tasks, working with other players, and succeeding in challenges. After creating their virtual worlds, players have the opportunity to generate income through various means.
Palma mentioned that significant changes are coming to the in-game economy. He didn't provide much detail, but mentioned that they are currently testing a new economy system. He hinted at a possible announcement regarding this and the ALICE token in the upcoming year.
Finally, My Neighbor Alice is interested in utilizing its position as a popular Web3 game to collaborate with different industry players, potentially resulting in new integrations in the upcoming months.
"We have established a significant collaboration with a major intellectual property in the industry," Palma stated. "Although we have not made any official announcements yet, as we are still developing the project, we always wait until we have a product ready before sharing news. This partnership is currently in progress and will be revealed soon."
